Roy L. Reed's Obituary
Roy Leslie Reed, 68, of Von Ormy, was called home to the Lord on Thursday, April 13, 2023.
Roy was born on July 5, 1954 in San Antonio, Texas to Harold B. Reed and Alma Lucille McNeil Reed. Roy graduated from High School and then went on to serve in the United States Air Force. After achieving his Associates degrees he established a career for 40 years as a facilities technician. Roy loved to play guitar, sing, spend time with his family and ride his motorcycle. He never met a stranger and could tell a joke like no other. He’s a true cowboy at heart, a man full of love, wisdom, and faith.
Those left to cherish Roy’s memory are his loving wife of 23 years Sandra Reed, His children: Amber Reed, Dallas Reed-Garcia and husband John, Texana Reed-Garza and husband Eddie, Austin Reed, And Odessa Reed; four brothers and sisters Carl Reed wife Francis, Jay Reed wife Barbara, Hal Reed and wife Roxy, and Joy Tipton, as well as his brother in law David Flores and wife Debbie. Also, surviving are his mother- in -law, Jerilyn "Jerry" Flores; grandchildren Lyrik Ricarte, Monroe Reed, Mathis Garza, and Odessa Reed Jr. as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Roy is joined in heaven by his parents, two sisters Francine Schermanhorn, Sandra Dreisbach and two brothers Lynn Reed and Ross Reed as well as his brother in Law Nolan Tipton Jr.
He will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by all who knew and cared for him. The family asks in lieu of flowers to please consider a donation in Roy’s name to Tunnels to Towers organization.
