Roland, to say that we will miss you is a vast understatement. Thank you so much for always being protective....even if it was annoying to your little sisters from time to time. You were always so willing to help anyone and everyone, no matter what. I'll always remember you letting that little girl in elementary school hold that baby chick; I'll remember how proud you were when I joined FFA, and even more proud when your first neice did the same. And most of all....I'll remember your too-tight hugs. Oh, to have another one....

Roland had so many adventures. playing with his dogs, climbing pine tree saplings and riding them down. deer hunting, helping haul wood to cut for winter. working after school joining the Marines, when he graduated, because they wouldn't let him join sooner. Roland was always there to help. giving his last dollar to someone that needed it more.
He was a the big brother to all his sister's friends, he was brother to so many that lived in the mobile home park we lived in, he was there when his best friend's parents died, he was always ready to help, made no difference who needed it.
To say I'm proud of my son is putting it mildly, the difficult paths he walked, he walked alone because he never needed help he was there to help others, He is with his grand mothers, and great grandparents have the time of his life. Roland has his dogs also, see you on the other side Rollie Pollie

I will always remember Roland as the older brother that wouldn't allow anyone else but him pick on his little sisters, the brother that stood so proud in his Marine Dress Blues, and the brother that always asked us if we needed "ANY thing" even though he never had much for himself. He was a Boy Scout at heart; Doing his duty for God and country and always willing to help others. He loved to make people smile even when he was down. (Please ask Jodie or I sometime about him purchasing the grape and playing Marco Polo with us in the grocery store.) Despite his faults, he was the most caring brother anyone could have. The entire family loves Roland dearly and wish we could have helped him navigate his difficult paths in life. For now we will miss him but we will surely see him again in Heaven.
