I have a lot of great memories with Cheryl so it’s really hard to mention just one. They span over many years starting from when I moved to San Antonio in 1985 until the last time I saw her at H‑E‑B in 2024.
One year we decided to have a weekend family get together in Port A. Cheryl decided she wanted to find a snowcone place that she had been to before. Problem was, she couldn’t remember where it was at. We spent over an hour driving around trying to find it. We all finally settled for ice cream. If she got something in her mind she would find away to make it happen. That's one of the many things I loved about her.
One Thanksgiving Cheryl walked past me and said something way off the wall. She then got that contagious smile on her face and asked “ you don’t know what that means do you?” I said no and with that smile she said “me neither.” She was full of surprises and ideas. I know she is heaven having a blast with all of the animals. Her infectious smile will never leave my memory.
