Benito "Bennie" Mendez's Obituary
Bennie Mendez, 57, of San Antonio, Texas, passed away on December 2, 2025, surrounded by the love of those who meant the most to him.
Born and raised in San Antonio, Bennie built a life defined by devotion, hard work, and an unshakable love for his family. He began his career as a CNA and, through determination and heart, worked his way up to become a respected business office manager. No matter the role, Bennie served others with kindness, humor, and a generosity of spirit that came naturally to him.
Bennie loved deeply and lived fully. His happiest moments were spent with his husband, Donny Bryant, and his beloved son, Christopher Logan Bryant Mendez, the two people who were the center of his world. He cherished family gatherings, backyard barbecues, and the simple joy of watching everyone laugh, eat, and jump into his pool. He was the one cracking jokes, hyping everyone up, taking endless pictures, and making sure the music stayed loud enough to dance to. Dramatic in the best way, funny without trying, and the undeniable life of every room Bennie’s presence was a light you felt before you even saw him.
He leaves behind his mother, Maria Elena Mendez; and his siblings: Fernanda Gutierrez, Susie Ann Paredes, Alma Ortiz, Laura Medina, Florie Mendez, and Lucy Arizola.
Bennie now joins in heaven his father, Fernando Mendez Sr., and his brothers, Mario Mendez, Fernando Mendez Jr., Richard Mendez, and Jimmy Mendez, who were called home before him. The reunion above is surely loud, bright, and full of the same laughter Bennie brought to every gathering.
Bennie’s legacy is one of love, joy, and unforgettable memories. He will be profoundly missed by all who were blessed to know him.
Services under the direction of Camero Funeral Home.
