William S. Moore

William S. Moore was born on May 7, 1942, in San Antonio, Texas, where he spent much of his life and built lasting memories with family and friends. He passed away on December 14, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of service, dedication, and laughter.
William proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, an accomplishment he spoke of with great pride. After his military service, he continued his commitment to serving others through a career in civil service. He especially enjoyed his continued work with airplanes, a passion that stayed with him throughout his life.
Known for his sharp wit and quick sense of humor, William always had a joke or something funny to say. His laughter and lighthearted spirit brought joy to those around him and will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.
William is survived by his loving daughters: Ila Moore de los Santos (James de los Santos), Stephanie Moore-Lopez (Raymond Lopez), and Mary M. Moore, his cherished grandchildren Jesus Castro III, Jessila M. Castro, Jaila M. Castro, John W. Castro and Catherine R. Lopez as well as his sister Eveyln Hamlin.
He is preceded in death by his father, William T. Moore, mother, Adeline Huizar, and his brothers Benny Moore, Larry Moore, and Paul Moore.
A service with military honors will be held at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery on Wednesday, January 14, at 9:30 a.m. (committal shelter five).
William S. Moore will be remembered for his honorable service, dedication to his work, love for his family, and the laughter he so freely shared.
