Virginia Y. Santos' Obituary
Our beloved mother Virginia Santos, at the age of 91, passed away peacefully on April 2, 2026. She was a loving mother, grandmother, aunt, and cousin. She dedicated her love of being a mother and grandmother who loved and lived with passion. She loved to travel to the Basilica at San Juan, Texas, going to the beach, Colorado, Las Vegas, and had many favorites but her favorite was the Saguaro cactus in Arizona. Virginia was known for her generous heart by making caldo de pollo to invite family and share her caldito with grilled skillet cornbread. There was not one day she wouldn't speak of her husband, our Dad, and how much she was missing him; she would gain strength by the love of all her family and friends that would make it little easy each day. Her daughter Margie always made her Christmas special by keeping her favorite Christmas tradition of making tamales for holiday family gatherings. She cherished her time and love spending it with family. Virginia had devoted time to the Acts Retreat she loved all her Sisters in Christ. Virginia was a member of The Guadalupanas Society of St. Philip Catholic Church Poteet, Texas.
Virginia had so much care and special love for the staff of Magnolia Hospice and Mendoza Personal Care Assisted Living Home. She always would always say they staff were God sent Angels.
Virginia is preceded in death by her husband, Ernesto Santos, Sr.; parents, Longino and Cecilia Ybarra; grandson, Tom Hector Lozano; her son, Roy Santos; her siblings, Estella Ybarra Hernandez and Ricardo Ybarra; brother-in-law, Juan Hernandez; and sister-in-law, Margaret Ontiveros.
