Veronica G. Masters' Obituary
For I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord. Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. On February 10, 1962, Veronica Masters was given an earthly future filled with hope. After a long battle with cancer, on January 19, 2019, our Lord faithfully fulfilled his promise of prosperity as he peacefully led Veronica back to him while she was surrounded by her daughters, sister and brother in-law.
Veronica was a 1980 graduate of McCollum high school. She made her career in the banking industry, working for Citi Bank, Chase and USAA. She was tenacious and passionate about her work.
Even greater than her passion for work was her love of life, family and friends. Veronica’s happiest moments were when she was laughing and sharing a meal with those she held close to her heart. Veronica loved to express herself through her cooking, baking, knitting and crafting.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Ramona Gutierrez of San Antonio, Texas, and her brother Hector. She leaves behind her daughters; Nicole Trevino-Garza (Dr. Rudy Garza) and Erica Masters as well as her sister, Irma and brother in-law, Louis DeWitt.
A rosary will be held at 10:00am, followed by a mass at 11:00am, on February 2, 2019 at St. Benedicts Catholic Church, 4635 Lord Road, San Antonio, Texas. Private burial service will be held at a later date.
