Theresa O. Villanueva's Obituary
Theresa O. Villanueva was born in San Antonio, Texas, on June 20, 1935, to Manuel and
Teresa Rodriguez, and went to be with the Lord on July 29, 2024, at the age of 89. Theresa
will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved her. She will remain in our hearts always and forever.
She is preceded in death by her husband Frank T. Villanueva, and parents, Manuel and
Teresa Orozco Rodriguez. Survivors include her loving sons Raul, aka Rebel (Raquel)
Villanueva, Louis (Christina) Villanueva, and Alex (Rose) Fuentes. Nieces, Yolanda (Tony)
Hewitt and Sandra Campos. Grandchildren, Priscilla (Alex) Salinas, Matthew Villanueva,
Sela Villanueva, Louis J (Dominique) Villanueva, Valerie (Andrew) Saenz, and Stephen
Hughes and family. Great grandchildren, Dean Saenz, Leila Saenz, Adrian Louis
Villanueva, Adrian Nicholas Salinas, and many devoted friends.
Theresa graduated from Fox Tech High School and completed her training as a Licensed
Vocational Nurse (LVN) with Santa Rosa Hospital in San Antonio, TX. She loved her job
dearly and proudly worked for Santa Rosa for over 40 years. She took great pride in being
a nurse and, after her retirement, would selflessly continue to offer her nursing skills and
advice to family and friends. At any chance, she would not hesitate to remind anyone,
“Oh, I loved my job as a nurse.”
Favorite pastimes include enjoying her outings and festivals, whether bird watching at the
park or attending festivals like Fiesta, Market Square, the Rodeo, or Dia de los Muertos. In
her stronger years, she would stop what she was doing to prepare a meal for anyone who
walked into her home. Lately, she enjoyed sitting back, playing board games with the
family, doing a crossword puzzle, or watching TV. Her favorite shows included The Golden
Bachelor, Property Brothers, The Mayans, Fail Army, and The Original Price is Right.
Visitation will begin on Monday, August 5, 2024, at 4:00 p.m., with a rosary to begin at
