San Juana García partió con nuestro Señor el 28 de febrero de 2026, a la edad de 105 años. Nació el 5 de marzo de 1920.
Honramos la vida de San Juana Garcia, Madre, abuela, bisabuela y tatarabuela que vivió por casi 106 años. Ella nació en 1920 en Fort Worth Texas, su infancia estuvo marcada por la tragedia cuando perdió a su padre en un trágico accidente ferroviario. Tras esta pérdida, su madre decidió regresar a México, llevando consigo a San Juana. Fue en Salamanca, Guanajuato, donde pasó gran parte de su juventud, cerca de sus raíces mexicanas y de las enseñanzas de su familia. Ahí mismo continuo con la siguiente etapa de su vida con su esposo, Jesús Garcia. Después de muchos años, los dos regresaron a San Antonio, Texas para estar al lado de sus hijos que residen aquí. Ella tuvo 11 hijos, más de 60 nietos, más de 30 bisnietos y algunos tataranietos los cuales son la cuarta generación de su familia. San Juana vivió un período de grandes cambios sociales, como la Ley Seca en Estados Unidos e innumerables acontecimientos históricos.
Desde la presidencia de Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo en México, hasta la Segunda Guerra Mundial y el final de la Guerra Fría, ella fue una espectadora privilegiada de la historia porque fue testigo de los mandatos de 22 presidentes mexicanos y 20 presidentes estadounidenses Reflexionamos sobre la vida de San Juana que fue un testimonio de vitalidad. Su pasión por la lucha libre y las corridas de toros reflejaron en ella un espíritu de determinación y valentía. Hoy con profundo pesar despedimos a la matriarca de nuestra familia quien fue y seguirá siendo un testimonio de la importancia de la fe, la familia, y la pasión por la vida. Siempre vivirá en nuestro corazón y estará presente en nuestros pensamientos. El legado de vida que nos deja se seguirá extendiendo a través del tiempo y las futuras generaciones.
El velatorio de San Juana se realizará el Lunes 9 de Marzo de 2026 en la Funeraria Southside, de 6:30 pm- 9:00 pm, con el rosario a las 7:00 pm. El Martes 10 de Marzo de 2026, partiremos de la Funeraria Southside a las 9:30 am para la misa a las 10:00 am en la Iglesia St Leo the Great Catholic Church. El entierro se realizará posteriormente en First Memorial Park.

We honor the life of San Juana Garcia, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother who lived for nearly 106 years. She was born in 1920 in Fort Worth, Texas, and her childhood was marked by tragedy when she lost her father in a tragic train accident. After this loss, her mother decided to return to Mexico, taking San Juana with her. It was in Salamanca, Guanajuato, where she spent much of her youth, close to her Mexican roots and her family's teachings. There she continued with the next stage of her life with her husband, Jesús Garcia. After many years, the two returned to San Antonio, Texas, to be close to their children who reside here. She had 11 children, over 60 grandchildren, more than 30 great-grandchildren, and some great-great-grandchildren, who are the fourth generation of her family. San Juana lived through a period of great social changes, such as Prohibition in the United States and countless historical events. From the presidency of Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo in Mexico, to the Second World War and the end of the Cold War, she was a privileged spectator of history because she witnessed the terms of 22 Mexican presidents and 20 U.S. presidents. We reflect on the life of San Juana, which was a testimony of vitality. Her passion for wrestling and bullfighting reflected in her a spirit of determination and courage. Today, with deep sorrow, we say goodbye to the matriarch of our family, who was and will continue to be a testimony to the importance of faith, family, and passion for life. She will always live in our hearts and be present in our thoughts. The legacy of life she leaves us will continue to extend through time and future generations.
A visitation will be held at Southside Funeral Home on Monday, March 9, 2026 - from 6:30 pm to 9:00 pm, with the rosary at 7:00 pm. On Tuesday, March 10, 2026, we will depart from the Southside Funeral Home at 9:30 am for the funeral mass at 10:00 am at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church. The burial will take place afterward at First Memorial Park.
