Samuel R. Hernandez's Obituary
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the loss of our father Samuel R. Hernandez. He joined our heavenly father on Saturday April 11th 2026 at 12:05am, surrounded and comforted by his family.
Samuel R. Hernandez was an entrepreneur, a mover and shaker, owner of various businesses including a washateria, numerous barbershops, and a bar. He also worked at the Bank of America and Federal reserve bank. He enjoyed the small luxuries such as a couple dozen cruises, trips to Las Vegas and Kickapoo, and going to Rockport with his family. He was always there for his friends and family, whether it was for comfort, wise words, not so wise words, or even one of his many jokes he loved to tell. He always said that love comes from the heart, not the wallet, and made sure everyone knew that he loved them for the right reasons and always showed that worldly items do not bring you love or happiness, but only the people you have in your life can do that.
He was loved and admired by everyone that encountered his beautiful soul and made everyone feel welcome at his table with his warm smile. Occasionally saying “toda via no se van ?” He was kind, hard headed at times but tender when it was necessary. He had a soft spot for his family but especially his granddaughter who loved him more than words could express. His fighting spirit will live on thru his wife, Irma Hernandez, two sons, Samuel Jr. and Rene Hernandez, daughter in law, Patricia Hernandez and granddaughter Kieann Hernandez. They will continue to carry on his legacy of humor, humility and kindness to all. Although Samuel is no longer with us, his memory will forever be with us and with anyone that he encountered.
