Ruben Sandoval Duque's Obituary
Ruben Duque was born on September 27, 1936, passed away the evening of December 13, 2025, age 89. Born at Los Silos Ranch in Goliad, Texas. Years later, now living in San Antonio, Ruben would meet his wife, Evangelina, and share the next 66 years together. They married on October 5, 1957. Ruben & Eva would then have 6 children, 10 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren. Ruben loved his family very, very much.
Ruben's profession was being a carpenter by trade. Therefore, in 1988-89, he purchased a piece of land in Castroville, TX., and built a house, and with all the love that Evangelina naturally carried she would transform it into the warm & caring home that it is today. The door was always open. To anyone. You could find him early on a Saturday morning making fresh salsa and homemade biscuits for breakfast. Before the afternoon came, he would be in the backyard working on his truck or something else that he believed needed attention around the home. He enjoyed working with his hands- all while teaching his kids, his grandchildren, and great-grandchildren the value of work ethic. As it got closer to sunset, the living room was His next stop & after finding the remote for the TV- everyone was watching a western.
Ruben is preceded in death by his wife Evangelina Duque; his daughter, Diana Flores and His so, Daniel Duque; his parents Pablo Duque Sr. & Carmen S. Duque; his sister Armantina Wagner and brothers Felimon Duque, Pablo Duque Jr., Alfredo Duque, Ermilo Duque. He is survived by his sister Gloria Cardenas, and brothers Reynando Duque, Arsenio Duque, Abran Duque; his children Dalia Cuellar, Otilia Duque, Ruben Duque Jr., Edward Duque; and his 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Ruben was a hardworking man, a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He will be dearly missed.
