Rosie Garza Gutierrez's Obituary
Rosie Garza Gutierrez, 75 passed away quietly at home on February 11, 2017 after a long battle with multiple myeloma in the presence of her companion Matteo Arredondo, her children and family. She graduated from Fox Tech High School and attended San Antonio College for Medical Assistants, raising her children in addition to two grandchildren. She volunteered with Mission Trails Baptist Hospital, State Chest Hospital and the Bexar County Ministries. Our wonderful mother found love again in the last years of her life with Matteo. Rosie was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Benito Raymond Gutierrez and her parents Henry T. Garza and Cecilia Garza. She is survived by her children, Danny Gutierrez, David Gutierrez (Leigh), Jo Ann Gutierrez, Sandra G. Olivarez and Theodore Gutierrez. Grandchildren, Medina and Maricela Hernandez, Jonathan Simpson, Joshua Kennedy, Sam and Serena Gutierrez and Paige McCourt. Great-Grandchildren, Faith McCourt and Halle M. Kennedy. Also survived by her brothers, Paul, Alex (Linda), Henry, Jesse (Lois), and sisters, Jovita (Ruben), Sylvia, Matilda and Grace and several godchildren, numerous nephews and nieces and extended family.She will be greatly missed by everyone she touched in life and it was her wish for us to ‘Celebrate Life’ for tomorrow is not promised to us.The family asks in lieu of donations, memorial contributions may be made in the name of Rosie Garza Gutierrez to the American Cancer Society.
