Rosendo Aguilar Gonzales' Obituary
Rosendo Aguilar Gonzales, also known as “Ross” to his family and friends, went to be with our Lord on June 21, 2025, at the age of 84, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born on January 10, 1941, in Floresville, Texas, to Fernando M. Gonzales and Acension B. Aguilar Gonzales. Ross attended Southside ISD up until middle school but had to drop out to help support his family. He started his career at Roegelein, where he worked for 30 years. He ended up receiving his GED from Southside High School, where he also worked in the Maintenance and Transportation Department. He was a proud and dedicated Southside Cardinal Alumni.
He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Fernando Gonzales, Ralph Gonzales, Molly Lopez, Gloria Martinez, Estela De La Garza, and Jesusita Gonzales. Ross is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Felicita H. Gonzales, loving children Betty Ann Martinez (John), Roland H. Gonzales (Adriana), and JoAnn G. Jimenez (Antonio, Jr.), Grandchildren; Maxine Martinez (Bea), Cynthia Sanchez, John Ross Martinez (Kendra), Laura Ramirez (Dale), Yaneli Jimenez (Eddy), Yesenia Ybarra (Rob), Antonio Jimenez III, and Jake Gonzales, Great grandchildren; Madison, Cynadrie, Meah, Trinity, Myla, Kennedy, Kameron, Ross Antonio, Katherine, and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Ross was known for his witty sense of humor, and the immense love he had for his family. His smile and laugh would light up the room. He leaves behind a legacy not only in name, but in the values and traditions he instilled. That legacy will live in the love and laughter of his children, grandchildren, and the memories cherished by his family.
Visitation will begin on Sunday, June 29, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Brookehill Funeral Home with a rosary to begin at 6:30 p.m. Funeral mass will be held on Monday, June 30, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Francis Cabrini Catholic Church with a procession from the funeral home at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at First Memorial Park.
