Rose Ann Martinez's Obituary
Rose Ann Martinez (Huerta) went to be the Lord on December 24th, 2022 in Poteet, Texas at the age of 79 surrounded by her family. Mrs. Martinez was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She was born to Juan & Rebecca Rodriguez Huerta in Alvin, Texas on February 22nd, 1943. Rose Ann worked as a nurse’s aide/unit clerk at Mercy Hospital in Jourdanton, Texas and at Poteet Nursing Home. She was preceded in death by her husband, David Martinez of 65 years, parents Juan & Rebecca Rodriguez Huerta, sister Isabel Casarez, brothers Encarnacion Huerta (Virgie), Daniel (Bo) Huerta, Benjamin Huerta (Cora), Philip Huerta ,Claude Huerta (Pauline), George Huerta (Lilly), mother in law Mauricia Camarillo Martinez Ramos, brother in laws Timoteo Ramos, Louis Morales, Valdemar Correa.
Rose Ann is survived in death by her daughters; Jo Ann (Evaristo) Flores, Brenda (Richard) Guzman, and Roxanne (Pete) Navarro. Along with her sisters; Connie Morales and Mela Correa, sister in laws; Ninfa Huerta & Anita Huerta. She is also survived by her grandchildren; Danielle Lopez (Alex Esparza), David (Brandie) Guzman, Matthew (Desiree) Lopez, Anisya Navarro, Madelyn Navarro, and Elijah Navarro, Great Grandchildren; Ramsie, Scottlyn and Dax Guzman, Wade and Adalee Lopez, Pallbearers;
Richard Guzman, David Guzman, Evaristo Flores, Matthew Lopez, Pete Navarro, and Alex Esparza, Honorary Pallbearers; Elijah Navarro, Dax Guzman, and Wade Lopez. The family would like to thank Four-Seasons Hospice for the excellent care provided to Mrs. Martinez. A special thank you to Veronica, Heather, Hope, and Margie for their excellent care and comfort during these times. The family would also like to thank Lupe Ovalle, Leticia Hermosillo, and Linda Pacheco for being great caregivers and countless hours they gave to caring for Mrs. Martinez. Rose Ann spent numerous hours caring for her grandchildren by attending field trips, games, recitals, and classroom parties every chance she got. She very much enjoyed doing her makeup with her Mary Kay Products and her hair everyday along with shopping. Rose Ann enjoyed cooking for her family, especially her Menudo on Sunday’s. She loved caring for her plants and tending to her hummingbirds outside. Services begin Tuesday, January 3rd, 2022 with visitation beginning at 3:00 P.M. at St. Philip Benizi Catholic Church in Poteet, Texas. A rosary service will be held Tuesday evening at 6:30 P.M. Services continue the following day, January 4th, with a funeral mass starting at 10:00 A.M. at St. Philip Benizi Catholic Church in Poteet, Texas
