Romana Vera Castro's Obituary
With deep love and gratitude for her life, we announce that Romana Vera Castro entered into eternal rest, gaining her wings at the age of 82.
Born on August 31, 1942, in Charco, Texas, to Luis and Dolores Vera, Romana was one of six children, growing up with three sisters and two brothers. She is now reunited in heaven with her beloved husband of 63 years, Joe M. Castro; her cherished daughter Cynthia Salas; son-in-law Richard Flores; her parents; and her precious great-granddaughter Alexia Rae Pastrano.
A proud graduate of Goliad High School, Class of 1961, Romana married her high school sweetheart, Joe M. Castro, shortly after graduation. Together, they built a beautiful life and raised five children:
Corina Flores (wife of the late Richard Flores)
Cynthia Salas (wife of Joe Salas)
Dolores Estrada (wife of David Estrada)
Paul Castro (husband of Carol Castro)
Joe Delfino Castro (husband of Cindy Castro)
Romana was blessed with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all of whom she adored deeply and proudly.
She dedicated many years of hard work to Levi’s Company (18 years) and Alcoa (17 years). Beyond her career, Romana lived a life of faith and service. A devoted member of the Baptist Church, she found joy in serving on church committees, singing in the choir, visiting nursing homes, and always lifting her voice in praise to the Lord.
The family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to Gentiva Hospice for their care and support during Romana and Joe’s final days.
Romana’s life was a beautiful example of faith, love, and devotion to family. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered in our hearts.
Rest in peace momo.
