Roger Myron Jackson's Obituary
Roger Myron Jackson (68) peacefully went to be with the lord on August 10th with his wife by his side. Roger was born on March 13, 1952 in San Antonio, Texas to Woodrow Nelson Jackson and Beulah Mae Howard. Roger graduated from East Central High School in San Antonio and later joined the United States Marine Corps where he served honorably. During his time in the military he met the love his life, Janet Elaine Wedel. Roger and Janet were blissfully married for nearly 44 years and spent time in California, Washington and Texas. Roger retired from Boeing in 2005. He was a man of God who enjoyed the outdoors, spending time with family, and working on his many hobbies. Roger will be remembered as a beloved husband, father, Papa, brother, uncle, and friend. He has left a legacy of love, kindness, and devotion that lives on in his family.
Roger is preceded in death by both of his parents, his father-in-law Harley Wedel, mother-in-law Joanne (Baker) Wedel, his sister-in-law Ruby (James) Wedel, and his brother-in-law, James Belcher. Roger is survived by his wife Janet; their four children, Woodrow Jackson, Elizabeth (Jackson) Delaney, Rebecca (Jackson) Rabel and her husband Bradley, and Harley Jackson and his wife Sue (Hendrik); his sisters Susan (Jackson) Lucas and her husband Robert, and Leona Gale (Jackson) Belcher; brothers-in-law, A. Geoffrey Wedel, and James Wedel; ten beautiful grandchildren, Kyle, Blaine, Brandon, Kara, Erika, Logan, Tristan, Jackson, Connor, and Oliver; a great-granddaughter, Lillyanna; and many nephews, nieces, grandnephews and grandnieces. All loved him dearly.
Private services will be held at Elmendorf First Baptist Church at 11:00 am on Friday, August 21st, followed later by private interment at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.
