Ricardo Zavala's Obituary
Our loving father, Ricardo Zavala, born on August 29, 1949, went to be with the Lord on November 18, 2025, at the age of 76.
He is preceded by his Father, Julio Zavala, Mother, Severa Casias, mother of his children, Delia Alfrido Zavala, wife, Clarita Zavala, and sister, Clara Carrasco.
He is survived by his brothers and sisters, Lonie Zavala, Josie Vielma, Felipe Mares, Becky Rodriguez, and Angie Laque. He is loved by his sons and daughters, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is missed dearly by his daughter Delia A. Zavala and Ciro Rodriguez, and their children Julian Z. Alaquinez, Jaime Zavala, Adrian Zavala, Naomi Z. Rodriguez. His son Ricardo (Jr) and Melissa Zavala and their children Brittany Z. Calarco, Ricardo (Ricky) A. Zavala, Makayla Contreras, Cody Contreras. His son Julio Zavala and his children Desire Zavala, Kimberly Zavala, Julio Zavala, Aaron Zavala, Brandon Zavala, Julius Zavala, Julian Zavala. His son Ruben Zavala and his children Ruben Zavala, Ryan Zavala, Melanie Zavala, Chasity Zavala, Rosemary Zavala, Elijah Zavala. His daughter Irene Z. Castro and her children Jade Acuna, Jayden Castro, and Rosemarie Castro.
He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren which brought him the love of life that he cherished and enjoyed. Ricardo's unconditional love to help those in need were an inspiration to us all; from helping family members with his doors wide open, to helping the community of his fellow veterans.
Ricardo proudly served his country in the US Army. He was an active member of the American Legion Post 399 and Veterans of Foreign Wars 4700 and served in officer positions over the last 35 years. His bravery and patriotism were his livelihood that carried as a war veteran who deployed to Vietnam. His military legacy continued through the service of his son Ricardo Zavala Jr. (Army Veteran) and currently his granddaughter Jade Acuna (National Guard).
A Visitation for Ricardo will be held on Thursday, December 4, 2025, from 12:00 PM - 12:00 Midnight, with a Rosary to be recited at 6:30 PM at Trevino Funeral Home, 2525 Palo Alto Rd. San Antonio TX 78211. Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated on Friday December 5, 2025, at 10:00 AM at St. Clare Catholic Church with interment to Follow at First Memorial Park Cemetery.
