Remigio G. Martinez's Obituary
Our beloved father, Remigio G Martinez, passed away peacefully in his home July 8th, 2023, at the age of 87 and joined his beloved wife of over 60 years, Estella Martinez. He is survived by his son Remigio H. “Marty” Martinez, Jr. and wife Terri Martinez, son Ruben H. Martinez and wife Inez Martinez, daughter Sandra M. Farias and husband Alfred Farias, son Robert P. Martinez and girlfriend Monika Gomez and his numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his Father, Ramon Martinez, and Mother, Telesfora Garza Martinez.
He was born in San Antonio, Texas on October 1st, 1935. He attended Harlandale High School. He built a prestigious career of forty-plus years at Kelly Airforce Base, receiving numerous awards during his years of service and retired as RCC Chief. Remigio was a man of many cherished roles; husband, father, grandfather and coach. His love for baseball and fishing started at an early age and is continued through his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Remigio’s contagious smile or chuckle brought out the best in people, but his charismatic personality would brighten up any room. He had a strong work ethic and was devoted to his family, friends, and neighbors alike. We will always carry his memory deep in our hearts.
Memorial Mass service will be held at 10 am on August 12, 2023, at St. Leo’s the Great, 4415 S Flores St San Antonio, TX 78214.
