Raul Hernandez Garcia's Obituary
Raul Hernandez Garcia, known by most as Roy, a former horse trainer and breeder and life-long resident of Poteet, TX, died unexpectedly on October 16, 2017 at the age of 63.
Roy is survived by his mother Carmen Hernandez Garcia; siblings Lydia Rivera (Roger Rivera), Mary Carmen Garcia Steele (Kenneth Steele), and brother Leroy Anthony Garcia; his children John Henry Luebano, Veronica Garcia, Kevin Garcia, and Christian Adolph Garcia; His grand children Anthony Luebano, Austin Luebano, and Wyatt Raul Garcia; And the love of his life, his babe Sandra Daniels. He is preceded by his father Enrique Alvarado Garcia.
Roy was born in Pleasanton, Tx on April 25, 1954 to Enrique and Carmen Garcia as their first born. At a young age his passion for horses became evident and a life long journey began, along side this he worked and eventually retired from Atascosa County precinct 2 and which allowed him to focus on Horse training and Breeding.
Just like a mustang wild and untamed it takes the right person to break it, and after years of searching he found the love of his life, Sandra who finally tamed Roy’s wild heart.
Roy was a devoted father an active joker. He enjoyed traveling and visiting friends and family out of state. He loved going to Colorado to spend time in the Rockies, he traveled often and was an amateur guitar/bajo sexto player. He often played at family events and gatherings this began his son Kevin’s love for music and the accordion.
Raul was called many things by friends and family whether it was papa, peepaw, Roy, Sorrio (skunk), little caveman, one thing is known for sure, He will be fondly, deeply missed by his numerous friends, and large loving family.
Services for Raul H. Garcia
Visitation will be held on Wednesday October 25,2017 from 4pm-9pm at Camero Funeral Home. Rosary will be held at 7pm on Wednesday October 25,2017 at Camero Funeral Home. Funeral services are to be held Thursday October 26, 2017 at 10am at Camero Funeral Home as well.
Burial services will be following funeral services at Madre Dolorosa II cemetery.
