Pedro A. Ybarra Jr.'s Obituary
Pedro Ybarra, lovingly known as "Papo," went to be with the Lord on March 23, 2026. He was born in Nixon, Texas, and spent most of his life in South San Antonio. Pedro was a remarkable man with many talents. He was widely known for his contributions to Tejano music, bringing joy to many through his
love of playing the accordion and singing alongside his beloved wife.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Celia Lopez Ybarra, and their son, Pete Ybarra III. He also leaves behind four siblings: Ray, Eva, Yolanda, and Ruby Ybarra; three grandchildren, Bryanna Muñoz, Brytany Diaz, and Pete Ybarra IV; and three great-grandchildren who will continue his legacy.
Pedro is preceded in death by his parents, Eloisa Aroiza and Pedro Ybarra, as well as his siblings Delia Y. Lozano, Lily Y. Gonzales, David Ybarra, and Gloria Y. Villarreal.
Pedro's love for his family and his music will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
The family will receive visitors at Camero Funeral Home in Von Ormy, Texas, on Tuesday, April 7, from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM, with a prayer service starting at 6:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Wednesday, April 8, at 9:00 AM, with a chapel service at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow.
