Pedro Castillo Escobedo Jr's Obituary
Pedro Escobedo, Jr. passed away peacefully on Sunday morning October 20, 2024. Pedro (Peter, Scooby) was born to Pedro Escobedo and Lucia Castillo Escobedo on June 29, 1952 in New Braunfels, TX. In his youth, Peter had some rough times, but for the last thirty-five years, Scooby lived a great life as a happy, sober man spending much of his time as a truck driver (interstate and local). Scooby loved having fun, meeting new people and inviting them to family gatherings. He loved to dance and was an avid motorcycle rider. The one thing he loved most was driving a truck. Scooby will be missed especially because he always brought joy, laughter and a sense of celebration to every gathering.
Peter is survived by his son Eduardo “Eddie” and two grandsons, Victor and Anthony, and his siblings Manuel (Elva) Escobedo (Cedar Park), Esther Trejo (Austin), Aida (Hector) Montanez (New Braunfels), Guadalupe (Gloria) Escobedo (New Braunfels), Armando (Hannah) Escobedo (Austin). Peter is also survived by 3 generations of nieces and nephews and dance partners across the state, too many to count (Solo Dios sabe). He is preceded in death by his parents, his sister Audilia Gutierrez and his motorcycle-riding brother-in-law, Adam Trejo.
The family would like to give special thanks to the medical staff at Baylor Scott & White in Temple, TX specifically Dr. Henderson, Dr. White, Dr. Wang, Dr. Doyle and their staff and to his employer Ludwin Flores for the generosity and flexibility allowed Peter in his work schedule. Finally, thank you to all the family who assisted and blessed Peter in these last few months, especially his motorcycle-riding nephew and his spouse, Adam and Candy Trejo.
Services will be held at 9:00 am on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at Camero Funeral Home, 20567 TX-16, Von Ormy, TX. The viewing will begin at 9:00 am with a short service and interment to follow (11:00 am). In remembrance of Peter, the family asks that any charitable donations be made to Hope Hospice of New Braunfels, 611 N Walnut Ave, New Braunfels, TX 78130, https://www.hopehospice.net/donate.
