Matilde C. Gallegos' Obituary
Matilde C. Gallegos, born on January 16, 1937, passed away on Monday, December 25, 2023, in San Antonio, Texas at the age of 86. She is survived by her children, Debra I. Ruiz, Lori (Alfred) Garza, Sr., Eric Gallegos; siblings, Willie (Elsie) Camarillo, Manuel (Minnie) Camarillo, Sr., Johnny (Carol) Camarillo, Sr., Roy (Irene) Camarillo, Susie (Albert) Guerra; grandchildren, Alfredo Garza, Jr., Bianca (Robert) Gomez, Sr., great grandchildren, Javier C. Cabrera, Jr., Candelaria Gomez, Serenity Sky, Robert; as well as numerous nephews, nieces, and good friends, Margie (Cholis) Villarreal and Esperanza Suarez. Matilde is preceded in death by her parents, Guillermo and Romana Camarillo, son, William C. Gallegos; siblings, Delores Ramos, Estella Garcia, Ramona Garza, and Arnulfo Camarillo. She was loved by many that called her mom or Grandma Tillie. She loved to garden, visit the casino, dance, and attend events with her grandkids. She was a great mom and a dedicated employee for San Jose Nursing Center for 40 years. She loved to joke around and was very young at heart. She loved her San Antonio Spurs. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Visitation will be held Friday, January 5, 2024, at Camero Funeral Home from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A rosary service will take place Friday evening at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home chapel. Family is requesting that attendees wear Spurs attire or silver and black.
