Mary Ann Guevara's Obituary
Mary Ann Guevara, a devoted wife, loving mother, adoring grandmother, and the heart of her family, passed away surrounded by loved ones. Her life was a testament to selflessness, devotion, and the quiet strength that comes from loving others more than oneself. She leaves behind a legacy of care, warmth, and beauty that will continue to impact the lives of those she touched.
Mary Ann was a woman whose greatest joy came from nurturing her family. Mary Ann dedicated every day to the care and happiness of her husband, daughters, and granddaughter. From the moment her granddaughter, Mila, entered the world, Mary Ann’s heart found a new center — every thought, smile, and plan seemed to revolve around her. She found joy in the simple acts of love — a home-cooked meal made with care, a well-kept home, a shared laugh. Her humor was as steady as her warmth, filling her home with laughter and ease. She took delight in anticipating every need, never resting until those she loved were comforted, fed, and cared for.
She had an eye for beauty and a gift for turning every place into a true home — always warm, safe, and comforting. She had a deep love for flowers, which reflected her gentleness. Just as her flowers flourished under her care, so too did the people in her life. Mary Ann’s kindness, love, and quiet devotion made her the steady center of her family’s world.
Though her absence leaves a profound emptiness, her spirit will continue in the hearts of her family and friends, who will forever cherish her memory and the love she so freely gave.
She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Alberto Guevara; daughters, Jenny Marie Sulaica and wife Victoria and Ann Marie Hernandez and husband John De Leon; granddaughter, Milena Dyachenko; siblings, Mary Lou Palos, Janie Dominguez, Carmen Martinez, Elizabeth Hernandez, Abel Hernandez, and Mario Hernandez; as well as numerous extended family members and a lifetime of friends.
The family will receive friends for visitation on Thursday, November 6, 2025, beginning at 10:30 AM at Porter Loring Mortuary, located at 1101 McCullough Ave, San Antonio, Texas, 78212. A funeral service will begin at 11:30, after which a procession will depart for First Memorial Park where Mary Ann will be laid to rest.
Flowers, which Mary Ann loved dearly, are welcome, however memorial contributions may be made instead to the Alzheimer’s Association at https://Alz.org/donate if desired.
