Mary P. Chavez's Obituary
Mary P. Chavez born July 13, 1942 to Alfredo Perez and Maria Rodriguez Perez in Poteet, Texas passed away on Sunday, October 27, 2019 in Jourdanton, Texas surrounded by her family at the age of 77 years. Mrs. Chavez was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Alfredo Chavez and daughter, Charlene Rassat. Mrs. Chavez is survived by her daughters, Arlene Calderon (Ruben Calderon), Darlene Perez Lopez (Carlos Lopez), Doreen Estrada (Robert Bueno), Karen Benavides (Eduardo Benavides), Charmaine Chavez (Jorge Ortega), and Cheryl Lynn Trevino (Art Trevino); brothers, Jesse Perez and Henry Perez; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; also other relatives and friends. Mrs. Chavez was an authoritative and independent woman. She reminisced with family about picking crops and riding on the tomato trucks in her youth. She loved to dance and listen to music and enjoyed the art of creating jewelry and rosaries. Mrs. Chavez also liked to knit. She had a green thumb and enjoyed tending to her plants and garden. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Visitation will begin on Thursday, October 31, 2019 at 4:00 p.m. at the Camero Funeral Home. A Rosary Service will be held on Thursday Evening at 7:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, November 1, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at the Camero Funeral Home Chapel.
