Martina O. Pena's Obituary
Martina O. Pena went home to be with our Lord and Savior on May 10, 2021 at the age of 94 surrounded by all her loving family. Martina was born to Basilio and Atanacia Orta on November 12, 1926 in Poteet, TX. She was the 4th oldest of 10 children, known for her mischievous fun loving spirit. She met her loving and devoted husband Geronimo at the age of 18, it was love at first sight. They were married for 28 years and had 6 children together. She was a dedicated loving mother.
Martina was preceded in death by her parents, Basilio and Atanacia Orta, husband Geronimo G. Pena, sons Juan O. Pena, Jerry O. Pena, grandsons Jerome P. Salinas and Joshua P. Salinas, son-in law Luis Salinas and Ralph De La Fuente. She is survived by her daughters; Rosalinda De La Fuente, Irma P. Salinas and Vicky Montemayor, and partner Ted Devilbiss, son Jaime O.Pena and wife Sylvia, 17 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren, and brother George L. Orta, the last of the siblings.
Martina was a devout Catholic, deeply rooted in her faith. She was a member of the Cursillista and Guadalupanas for over 40 years. She was a true servant of Christ. Martina was known by all for her love of family, her cats and her plants. Martina will be tremendously missed.
Church services will be held on Friday May 21st at St. Philip Benizi Catholic Church (274 Ave H Poteet TX) Viewing 9-11a.m Rosary 11-12p.m Mass 12:00p.m followed by burial at Madre dolorosa cemetery in Poteet, TX.
