Marlene Coleman's Obituary
Marlene Coleman was born August 22, 1931 in Los Angeles, California to Manual and Crystal Rankin.
A date that she never forgot was the day she accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior on Monday, June 18. 1951. From that time during the 1950's and 1960's she used her talent the Lord gave her as a lead singer and soloist in the Faith Home Assembly Church Choir in Los Angeles.
Another time that she was grateful for was when she married Horace Coleman on September 6, 1969 of that union. Joseph Coleman was born on July 2, 1971. Unfortunately Horace did not remain faithful to the Lord nor his marriage, but Marlene stood even stronger in her faith and as a devoted mother to provide for herself and her son. She did a little modeling, worked as a seamstress and made dresses, and later worked as a home health provider for the elderly.
Her #1 thing that she wanted people to know about her was her relationship with Jesus and she wanted others to have that same relationship.
She will be dearly missed by her two surviving siblings, Arthur Rankin, 85 and Ronald Rankin, 79. She will especially be missed by her son, Joseph but there is a sense of joy because we know we will see her again someday in Glory.
