Maria de Los Angeles Gloria Rodriguez's Obituary
It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude for her life that we announce the passing of our beloved Maria De Los Angeles Gloria Rodriguez, affectionately known as “Momo” or “Mariita,” who entered the arms of the Lord on March 3rd, 2025, at the blessed age of 90. Maria was born on October 2nd, 1934, in Ciénega de Flores, Mexico, to Elijio Gloria and Julianna Garza. She was a woman of remarkable strength, boundless love, and unwavering faith.
Maria’s life was dedicated to the people she loved, and there was no greater joy for her than her family. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister, she was the heartbeat of her family, the glue that held everyone together. Maria's legacy of love and devotion will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
In 1955, Maria found love with her "Guero" in Monterrey, Mexico. Together, they built a beautiful life and welcomed seven children into the world. In 1964, the family moved to the United States, where Maria embraced her new life, and in 2001, she proudly became a U.S. citizen. She and her beloved husband, Rodolfo E. Rodriguez, shared 51 years of happiness, raising a family filled with love, faith, and gratitude. Maria’s life was rich with memories of holidays and family gatherings, especially Thanksgiving, when she gathered her loved ones around her to celebrate the bond they shared.
A gifted seamstress, Maria worked for many years at Levis & Strauss Co., retiring after a distinguished career. She spent countless hours sewing beautiful garments for her family, from alterations to custom-made clothes, quinceanera dresses, and even wedding dresses for her loved ones. Her sewing machine was never far from her reach, and she continued to craft with love and dedication well into her late 80s, still sewing exquisite creations at the age of 89.
Maria’s devotion to her family extended far beyond her children. She was a proud grandmother to 21 grandchildren, and each one was blessed with her unconditional love and guidance. Her legacy continues in her 38 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren, all of whom carry forward the lessons of love, strength, and faith she instilled in them.
Maria is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Rodolfo E. Rodriguez. She leaves behind her seven children: Rafaela Zapata, Rodolfo G. Rodriguez (and his wife, Maryann Rodriguez), Ramiro G. Rodriguez (and his wife, Mary Jane Rodriguez), Blanca Macias, Martha Riojas (and her husband, Rene Riojas), Estela Rodriguez (and her husband, Alberto Hernandez), and Laura De Leon (and her husband, Francisco De Leon). She is also survived by her sisters, Maria Victoria Gloria Garza and Maria Luisa Gloria Ruiz, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, as well as numerous other loved ones who will forever cherish her memory.
Maria’s passing leaves an unfillable void, but her spirit will continue to inspire and guide her family. She will be deeply missed, but her love and teachings will live on in the hearts of those she touched. Maria was a woman of faith, strength, and grace, and she has left an enduring legacy of love that will never be forgotten.
We take comfort knowing that you are now in the presence of the Lord, reunited with your beloved husband, and watching over all of us from above. You will forever be our guiding light, and your memory will be cherished for generations to come.
