My Tia Maria was one of the strongest woman I knew growing up as a kid. I remember she used to watch over my sister and I after school and would treat us to Mexican food every other Thursday. As long ago as that was she played a huge part in my life, molding me into who I am today. I will miss you very much Tia.

I had the pleasure of meeting Maria working at H-E-B, during new store openings and remodels doing "Scan Audits", Maria took me under her wing and taught me a lot about being a "Scan Coordinator" we quickly became really good friends and Maria was my go to when I had any work related questions, and would always give me advice regarding everyday life. Maria always lent an ear and would always take time to listen.
Being on the road for work with Maria I loved when she would share her stories of her upbringing. I was fortunate to have her in my life at such a young age
(she would call me Tomasito). I really value our friendship and am glad I ran into her at SA#9 a while back and we got to talk for a good little while and I was able to give my friend whom I will always cherish a big hug. I know you are at peace and Heaven has gained another Angel. Please put in a good word with the good Lord for us.

Just wanted to say I’m sorry for your loss. I worked with Maria for many years, and I remember working in the office and she would ask for her paycheck, since we had 2 Maria Reyes in the store, she would always tell us “Maria O Reyes” because sometimes we would give her the wrong one, and she would question us but never got mad. 😃. She was so dedicated to her job, didn’t want to call in sick ever. That’s how much her dedication was. I respected and admired her for a lot of other reasons. She will be missed 😭😭. R.I.P. Maria.
Tia Maria you were one of the most inspirational role models that I had the privilege of having in my life. Your selfless commitment and devotion to family was one of the greatest lessons I learned from you. You embodied truth, love, mercy and humbleness with ease. Thank you for always supporting me with your boundless love during the most challenging moments of my life. I will always remember your words of encouragement and your zeal for living life to the fullest in service of others.

I had the true pleasure of meeting Maria @ H-E-B . Worked with her side by side for many years. Not only was she a true professional & perfectionist, she took the time to talk & joke around as well. We had countless talks about family, she painted a vivid picture of her childhood & upbringing. She loved her family, always talking about her brothers & sisters adventures. She shared stories of a humble lifestyle, and strong family values, especially about her parents. We’d laugh a lot of the crazy things that would happen back in her days. When I left H-E-B I kept contact with her , and the conversation picked up where we left off, never a dull moment : she was a true friend, big heart, very caring . I’ve always said the greatest thing I ever got from working at H-E-B, wasn't the pay , it wasn’t the benefits , or any of that type of thing....to me the greatest blessing I got were the life long friendships , with Maria being one of them; friendships like hers have more value than anything else . I’m gonna miss my friend dearly, but I’m at peace knowing she’s with our maker now . May god bless you Maria always ............ joe Hernandez
