Maria Feliz Menchaca's Obituary
Maria Feliz Menchaca, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt, passed away peacefully on December 3, 2025, at the age of 96, surrounded by her family. She was born on July 12, 1929, in Rossville, Texas, to Dario Alvares Tober and Maria Delaluz Rosalez.
Maria was a devoted stay-at-home mother who enjoyed making her favorite yeast rolls, which were loved by all her children and grandchildren. Her favorite pastime was being outdoors tending to her plants. She also enjoyed making crafts, which she lovingly gave to her children and grandchildren as keepsakes.
She is survived by her children: Alfonso (Tonia) Menchaca of Natalia, TX; Adolfo (Charlottee) Menchaca of Poteet, TX; Sally (David) Martinez of Pleasanton, TX; Elizabeth More of Poteet, TX; Susan Menchaca of San Antonio, TX; Synthia Salinas (Raul) of Jourdanton, TX; Emery Menchaca; and Erica Casias of Poteet, TX. She is also survived by 35 grandchildren, 63 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfonso Menchaca Jr.; her daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Richard Luna; her son-in-law, Ernest More; and her grandson, Emil Luna.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 12, 2025, at St. Philip Benizi Catholic Church from 9:00 A.M. to 10:30 A.M., with a rosary recited at 10:30 A.M. A funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 A.M., followed by interment at Rossville Cemetery.
