Maria Elisa Martinez's Obituary
Maria Elisa Martinez passed away on July 5, 2025, while bravely battling cancer. She was born on December 14, 1954, in Robstown, TX. Daughter of parents Juan B Martinez and Elisa Martinez. She is survived by loving daughters Korina De Leon, spouse Stephen De Leon, Margarita Littles spouse Ray Littles, and Sabrina Martinez spouse Sebastian Garcia, sons Clemente Cantu spouse Jennifer Cantu, Felipe Martinez fiancée Vanessa De La Garza and Jose M. Martinez. Her life partner Richard Hernandez and her 18 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
Her family was her sole focus, and she worried over and took care of them until the end, sometimes to the exclusion of her own needs. Maria believed in hard work and instilled that in all of her children She loved to dance; she did so as a young adult and later on with her sons and grandsons.
Maria had an amazing sense of humor and a beautiful laugh! Her wit was razor sharp and she was known to say the most shocking thing she could think of, in hopes of helping you see a new perspective. She made her whole family laugh with her outrageous and exaggerated facial expressions, and all her silly sayings. She was kind, generous and compassionate. She believed in family and always being there for one another. She loved her entire family, despite their quirks and disfunction. She worried about them, rooted for them, protected them, proud of them, forgave them, and always kept on loving them.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, from 3:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. with a rosary to be recited at 6:00 P.M. On Wednesday, July 16, 2025, a Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday at 10:00 A.M. at St. Phillip Benizi Catholic Church.
