Manuela Flores Mermella's Obituary
With deep love and sorrow, we announce the passing of Manuela Flores Mermella, who departed this life on April 25, 2025, at the age of 80. Born on December 22, 1944, Manuela was a lifelong resident of San Antonio, Texas, where she built a life centered around family and joy.
Manuela spent many years working as a packer for various moving companies throughout San Antonio. She was known for her strong work ethic, vibrant personality, and the warmth she extended to everyone she met. In her free time, she enjoyed playing Bingo, dancing, and spending time with her beloved family. Her home was always filled with laughter, music—especially her cherished old-fashioned Tejano tunes—and the aroma of homemade meals.
She is preceded in death by her sons, Isaac Mermella Jr. and Jose Luis Mermella; her parents, Rosalio Flores and Lorenza Davila; grandsons, Isaac Mermella III and Joe John Mermella; great-granddaughter, Jessika Renee Vallado; and her brothers, Donicio Garcia and Juan Ramon Davila.
Manuela leaves behind a loving legacy in her daughters, Diana Mermella and Norma Jean Carroll (Julian Ayala); her grandchildren, Daniel Mermella (Veronica), Darrel Mermella, Briana Rangel, Samantha Rangel, Raymond Vallado (Melissa), Iris Ortiz (Tommy Perez), Destinee Haines (Stephen Carrillo), and Mercedes Haines; 14 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, and 17 great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings, Dominga Diaz (Vidal), Mary Lou Garcia (Gilbert), and Gilbert Davila (Lorraine), along with many other cherished relatives and friends.
Her legacy of love, resilience, and family unity will live on through all who knew her. Manuela will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
There will be a Visitation held on Monday, May 5, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. - 10:00p.m. with a Rosary being recited at 6:00 p.m. On Tuesday, May 6, 2025, our doors will open at 8:30 a.m. for Visitation, we will then Dismiss at 10:30 a.m. with everyone meeting at First Memorial Park Cemetery for burial.
