Manuel Cortinas' Obituary
Manuel Cortinas, 66 years old, a beloved husband, father and grandfather died Friday, April 19, 2019 at his home in San Antonio, Texas surrounded by his family and friends. Manuel was preceded in death by his parents Rogelio and Andrea Cortinas as well as his brother Fidencio. Manuel is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Hilda Cortinas; sons, Martin (Fernando), Manuel Jr. (Alicia), Michael (Mariza) and granddaughters, Yarima Cortinas and Alicia Martinez. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters; Juan R. Cortinas (Bertha), Simona Chavez, San Juanita Barrera (Rogelio), Rebecca Gutierrez (Federico), Frances Reynero (Gabriel), Jose A. Cortinas (Ruben) and Martin Cortinas (Mary Ann) as well as numerous nieces, nephews, godchildren and many close friends including his beloved dog Layla. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Holy Savior Hospice Care and most of all to Manuel’s niece, Josephine Reynero; whom cared for him during his final days at home. We are forever grateful for the care she provided during this difficult time.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, April 25, 2019 at St. Gerard Catholic Church from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A rosary service will be held at the church at 7:00 p.m. A funeral mass will be held Friday, April 26, 2019 at St. Gerard at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at San Jose Burial Park.
