Luis M. Alaniz Sr. born October 10, 1933 passed away on Friday, June 5, 2020 in Poteet, Texas at the age of 86 years. Mr. Alaniz is preceded in passing by his Parents, Luciano and Matilda Alaniz, Siblings, Crusita Alaniz, Lilly Ugalde, Ramiro Alaniz, Maria Espinoza, Juan Alaniz, Uvaldo Alaniz, Geraldo Alaniz and Lydia Garcia. Luis is survived by his wife of 50 years, Josephine Alaniz, Children, Gina Ann Gutierrez (Rudy), Christopher Alaniz (Elizabeth), Linda Gale Alaniz, Jose Luis Alaniz, Jr. (Frances), Irene Uriegas (David), Brothers, Thomas Alaniz, Matilde Alaniz, Ruben Alaniz, Adolfo Alaniz, and Alfredo Alaniz, 17 Grandchildren, 34 Great Grandchildren, 1 Great Great Grandchild and numerous Nephews and Nieces. Mr. Alaniz was known for always having a smile on his face and constantly laughing. He had a heart of gold and was always there for family and friends when help was needed. His family meant so much to him and he loved everyone who touched his life. Luis loved fishing and boating when he was free, but never turned down a family gathering when the occasion arose. Family gatherings meant the world to him and he loved relaxing with everyone to BBQ or listen to some good Christian music. At home he never missed watching a Houston Astros game or a classic western film. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Visitation will begin on Wednesday, June 10, 2020 from 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at the Camero Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, June 10, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at the Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at First Memorial Park Cemetery in Von Ormy, TX.
