Leopoldo "Leo" Ferniz III's Obituary
Leopoldo "Leo" Ferniz III, age 48, of Von Ormy, Texas, was welcomed into the arms of his Lord and
Savior on April 10, 2025, after a difficult and courageous battle with Stage IV Pancreatic Cancer.
Surrounded by the love of his family, Leo embarked on his journey to walk the streets of gold,
leaving behind a legacy of strength, resilience, and unwavering faith.
Born on June 6th, 1976, Leo's life was a testament to love, faith, and unwavering strength. He was a
devoted husband to his beloved JoAnn, their love story is an inspiration to all who knew them. Leo
was the proud father of Jennifer, Maria, and Ramon, showering them with a love that knew no
bounds. His grandchildren, Delores, Misty, Mila, Joshua, Emily, John, and Luke, were the apples of
his eye, each bringing a unique spark of joy to his life. Family was his everything, and he cherished
every moment spent creating memories that will be forever treasured.
Leo was a skilled and knowledgeable Licensed Electric Journeyman for over 25 years, sharing his
expertise in commercial, industrial, and residential settings. He was known for his dedication to his
craft and his willingness to lend a helping hand.
Beyond his professional life, Leo found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He cherished time spent
outdoors with family and friends, whether fishing, hunting, relaxing by the lake, or enjoying the
tranquility of the coast, Leo embraced life's simple pleasures with a grateful heart. His backyard
barbecues were legendary, his secret ingredient being the boundless love he poured into every
dish.
Leo is survived by his loving wife, children, and grandchildren, who will forever carry his memory in
their hearts. He also leaves behind his sister, Blanca Diaz, brother, Luis Ferniz, and their families,
including numerous nieces and nephews who will cherish his memory. He was preceded in death
by his parents, Margarita and Leopoldo Ferniz Jr, and his sister, Lupe Ferniz.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Leo's life at visitations held on Tuesday, April 22, 2025,
from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM, with prayer service at 6:00 PM at Camero Funeral Home. A final visitation
will be held on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Camero Funeral Home,
followed by interment at First Memorial Park Cemetery.
Though Leo's physical presence is deeply missed, his spirit will forever shine brightly in the hearts
of those who knew and loved him. May his memory be a blessing, a reminder to cherish our loved
ones and to live each day with the same love, faith, and unwavering strength that Leo embodied.
