Julia Godines Raygoza's Obituary
Julia Godines Raygoza entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior at the age of 95 on April 21, 2026. She was born on September 20, 1930 to Estanislado Godines and Guadalupe Fuentes in Karnes City, Texas and was 1 of the 11 children born to the Godines.
The Godines family moved from Karnes City to San Antonio, Texas in 1946.
At age 20 Julia enrolled at the Church of God International Preparatory Institute where she met and married Hector V. Raygoza from Empalme, Sonora, Mexico.
Hector and Julia were involved in ministry their entire life and she helped her husband to pastor 10 congregations, 1 in Guadalajara and 9 in Texas. Within the Church of God: Peniel, Palm Heights, Romero, Rivas & 23rd & Southcross, Church of the Nazarene: Corpus Christ, San Benito, Laredo and Las Palmas.
Julia G. Raygoza is preceded in death by her parents Estanislado & Guadalupe Godines, four brothers Silvestre, Antonio, Jose, and Tanis Godines and four sisters, Antonia Rodriguez, Rosa Mejia, Maria Godines and Josefina Figueroa.
Julia is survived by her loving husband of 72 years, Hector V. Raygoza, children; Hector Samuel, (Debra), RosaMaria, Anna Lydia Palacios (Julio), Carlos Enrique and Marco Esteban, as well as six grandchildren: Esteban S., Marco J, Gabriel E., Daniel J., Kayla M. and Samuel R. and 5 great-grandchildren: Mikayla, Aiden, Rebecca, Nicolas and Kallen, two brothers Apolonio and Hilario Godines, and numerous other relatives and church family.
Visitation with family will be held on Monday May 4, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. with an evening service at 7:00 pm at Central Church of God – 210 Calles St., San Antonio, TX 78207.
Interment will be held on Tuesday, May 5, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Memorial Park Cemetery 20567 Texas 16 S. Von Ormy, TX 78073. Attendees should meet at the Cemetery.
