Juan Antonio Gonzales' Obituary
Juan Antonio Gonzales of San Antonio, Texas went home to our Lord on Saturday, September 2, 2017 at the age of 72 of natural causes. Juan was born in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico on July 1,1945 to Valentina and Antonio Gonzales. He is preceded in death by both parents and Grandmother Petra Hinojosa. Juan is survived by his daughter Cindy and husband Frank Meffert, grandchildren Kenny and Emily Meffert of Layton, Utah. Brothers: Guillermo Gonzales, Fernando Escalera and wife Debbie of Sheboygan, Wisconsin, Jose Escalera and wife Sheri of Houston, Gerardo Escalera and wife Irma of Houston, Lazaro Escalera and wife Cindy of San Antonio, Roberto Escalera. Sisters: Minerva Benavides and husband Gilbert of Natalia, Tx. Maria Martinez, Esmeralda Galvan and Valentina Escalera. Numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, cousins and his Aunts Maria Cantu and Elsa Sifuentes. At the age of 18 Juan served in the U.S. Army for 2 yrs. He served in the Marine Corps from 1974-1979. Juan worked as a long haul truck driver from the age of 20 until he retired at the age of 67. His CB handle was "The Preacher" because he loved to talk about God and he exhibited his love for our Lord and Savior. Celebration of life will be on Monday , Sept.11th at 7p.m. and funeral Services on Tuesday, Sept. 12th at 10a.m. FIRST Memorial Park Cemetery
