Juan Manuel Garcia's Obituary
San Antonio, TX - Juan Manuel Garcia, age 77, went home with the Lord on May 18, 2025. He
was reunited with his mother Adela P. DeLeon, sisters Eva Cortez, Lily Ramirez, brothers
Francisco DeLeon Sr., Jose DeLeon and granddaughter Katherine Beth.
He is survived by his wife Nereira Jauregui; daughters Angela Mosqueda, Amelia Stewart,
Adriana Garcia; sons Juan Garcia Jr., Carlos Garcia, Daniel Garcia; daughters-in-law Melissa
Sullivan, Kris Garcia; sons-in-law Gabriel Mosqueda, Sheldon Stewart, Jacob Martinez;
grandchildren J.T., Gabriel Jr., Christopher, Christian, Hannah Katherine, Nathaniel, Gena Ysabel,
Matthew, Sofia Marie, Emmanuel, Elizabeth; and great-grandchildren Jayden, Adam, Luca, and
Zhavia.
He was born and raised in San Benito, Texas, located in the Rio Grande Valley. He was a U.S.
Army Veteran who enlisted at the age of 19 and bravely served 2 tours in Vietnam as a combat
field medic assigned to the 4th Infantry Division. During his deployment he received the Bronze
Star w/ “V” Device and Army Commendation Medal w/ “V” Device. As one of his fellow
comrades said about him, “Doc was the bravest man I have ever known.” He had an impact on a multitude of people, and his memory will never be forgotten. He will forever be remembered as a good man.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 29, 2025, from 3:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. with a prayer service at 6:00 P.M. On Friday, May 30, 2025, visitation will begin at 9:00 A.M. with a chapel service at 10:00 A.M. interment to follow at First Memorial Park Cemetery.
