Josie Hewitt's Obituary
Josie Hewitt was born on March 29, 1933, in Somerset, Texas to Pedro and Grace Montelongo, she passed away at the age of 92 on July 21, 2025. Josie was a devout Catholic, a loving mother, sister, aunt and friend who loved preparing meals and setting up family gatherings. She was also a gifted caterer who inherited a catering business from her late father-in-law. Josie also enjoyed cheering on the San Antonio Spurs and Dallas Cowboys and enjoyed nurturing her many plants and creating ceramic work.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Martin O Hewitt; son-in-law Daniel Espino; grandson Stephen Espino; sister Julia Martinez and brother Herman Montelongo. Survivors include her daughters; Velma Espino and Elizabeth Hewitt, son Antonio Hewitt and wife Yolanda, son Tommy Hewitt; brothers Santiago Montelongo Sr and Doroteo Montelongo, 2 grandchildren; Michael Espino and Briana Herrera; 5 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be at 5:00 PM on Thursday July31, 2025 at Mission Park Funeral Chapels South with a Rosary to be held at 6:00 PM. Funeral Mass will be offered at 10:00 AM on Friday August 1, 2025, at our Lady of Angels Catholic Church followed by internment at First Memorial Park, 20567 State Highway 16 South, Von Ormy, TX 78073.
