Jose L. Viesca's Obituary
Jose L. Viesca, born July 28, 1948, in Piedras Negras, Mexico went to be with the Lord on January 14, 2025, at the age of 76.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Antonio & Juanita Viesca; brother Juan Viesca and sisters, Ofelia Viesca and Mary Ramirez (Ray).
He is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Margarita L. Viesca; daughters, Rachael Jackson (James), Velinda Garza (Anthony) and Veronica Viesca; sons, Jose Julian Viesca and Steven Viesca (Jahtanya); grandchildren, Jonathan, Caitlyn, Miranda, Lauren, Zachary, Gabriella, Scarlet, Jacob and Joseph; great grandchildren, Chloe and Camilla; siblings, Mary Helen Zuniga (Joe), Pat Pena (Dan), Rose Clark (John), Albert Viesca, Victor Viesca (Bell) and Manuel Viesca.
Jose proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War from 1967-1970. Jose, a carpenter, a mechanic, and a gentleman. He was known for his resilience, honesty, hard work ethic and dedication to his family. Jose was an exceptional carpenter, from building homes to silly contraptions. Along with his carpentry skills he was a mechanic by profession. His mastery in mechanics ranged from airplanes to lawnmowers and he enjoyed helping family with home repairs. Jose also enjoyed spending time with his family at camp to fish and relax by the river. His love for his wife and family was shown by everything he did from supporting our decisions, fixing and building things to instilling the importance of family traditions.
He will be missed terribly but will always be here with us in spirit and in our hearts and memories.
A visitation will be held on Monday, January 27, 2025, from 5:00 PM - 10:00 PM at Trevino Funeral Home, 2525 Palo Alto Rd, 78211 with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM. On Tuesday, January 28, 2025, a Mass of Resurrection will be Celebrated at 10:00 AM at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church with interment to follow at First Memorial Park Cemetery.
