Jose Rios' Obituary
Joe Rios of San Antonio, Texas, passed away on April 6, 2026. He was born on July 21, 1952, in Traverse City, Michigan. Jose was the beloved son of Heriberto Rios and Maria Blanquiz.
He spent his early years in Chicago, Illinois, where he started his family, having two daughters, Jo Ann and Donna, and two sons, Joey and Jerry, before settling in San Antonio, Texas, where he built a life rooted in family, dedication and love. He had two more daughters, Lisa and Amanda, and his son, Ruben.
Jose was a man of great heart, known for his kindness, humor and strong work ethic. He had a natural talent for carpentry and took pride in building and fixing things with his hands. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing and gardening and painting – simple pleasures that brought him peace. More than anything, Jose treasured the time he spent with his family, creating memories that will be cherished forever.
He is survived by his loving mother, Maria Blanquiz; siblings, Herbert, Mario, Linda, Mando, Ritchie, Tino, Pepe, Nora and Sammy; his devoted partner, Eloisa Rodriguez; his daughters, Jo Ann, Donna, Lisa, Amanda and his son, Ruben; and numerous grandkids and great-grandkids and his lifelong friend, William Villasana.
He was preceded in death by his sons, Jerry and Joey Rios; his father, Heriberto Rios; His sister, Tina; and his brothers, Jesse, Manuel and Martin Rios and his-son-in law Frank Garcia.
Jose’s love, laughter and quiet strength will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
