Joe M Castro, living his final moments in life as he wanted. Surrounded by his wife and family in Von Ormy, Texas at the age of 87.
Born in Nordheim Texas on January 23rd 1938 Joe grew up with a deep appreciation for an honest living, a strong work ethic, and a cunning sense of humor. Spending the early parts of his career working on Knowlton dairy farms he then went on to run A1 mobile home services. His hands shaped more than the ground we walked on — they built a life rooted in integrity, service, and love.
Joe survived by his wife of 63 years Romana Vera Castro; Together raising 5 children 18 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren. Along side his 7 brothers and 7 sisters Joe went on to build a legacy in the family he left behind, enjoying every single moment spent.
Whether tending to his roosters, taking care of yard work, or sharing hours of stories around the kitchen table Joe lived simply and gave generously. He found joy in the quiet moments — the morning sunlight shining through the window, the laughter of family, the satisfaction of a job done right.
A celebration of Joes life will be held at Camero Funeral Home and Crematory on Thursday June 12th visitation 3:00pm-8:00pm prayer service 6:00pm. Friday June 13th visitation and burial from 9:00am-11:00am chapel service 10:00am
Joe Castro will be remembered for his quiet strength, steady presence, and the extent in which he spread his love and compassion.
