Javier Martinez's Obituary
Javier Martinez was born March 15, 1952 and passed away on August 24, 2018 from complications of diabetes at the age of 66 in San Antonio, Texas. Javier was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Juanita Marcil, and is survived by numerous family and friends throughout the country. Javier spent more than 40 years entertaining thousands across Texas as the legendary performer, “Shady Lady.” As Shady, she often supported benefits for LGBTQ events and causes. In 2015, she was one of the grand marshals of the San Antonio Pride Parade. Originally from McAllen, Javier spent much of his life in San Antonio and was devoted to caring for his aging mother until her death. He was an avid collector of Barbie dolls and gladly shared his knowledge with other local collectors. Javier will be remembered by all who knew him as a passionate, kind, generous, and loving person who loved life and lived it to the fullest. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Memorial service will be held at St. Leonard’s Catholic Church 8510 South Zarzamora, San Antonio, Texas on Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at 11:00 am. Graveside internment will be immediately following at First Memorial Park Cemetery 20567 Texas Hwy 16, Von Ormy, Texas. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the San
