Hortencia G. Garza's Obituary
Hortencia "Tencha" Garza, of Poteet, Texas, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 30, 2025. She was born September 28, 1937 and lived a fulfilling life. Hortencia is preceded in death by her parents, Angel and Eduvigen Gomez; Husband, Jose F. Garza; and grandchildren, Robert Davila, Jr., Jason Perez, and Alex Garza. She is survived by her 7 children, Joe and wife Janie Garza, their children, Darlene Benavides, Nicole Wittliff and Justin Garza; Jimmy and wife Rosa Garza, their children, Elizabeth Pezzotti, Bernadina Garza and Vanessa Garza; Virginia Perez, her daughter, Janet Perez; Joann Ortiz and husband Edward Ortiz, their children, Roxanne Crowley and Karissa Ortiz; Becky Sanchez and husband Ruben Sanchez, their children, Tiffany, Ruben and Tristan Sanchez; Dora Garza, her children, Matthew Delgado, Jeremy Gonzalez, and Myra Garza; Frank and wife Amelia Garza, their children, Amanda Garza and Frank Anthony Garza, Jr. She is also survived by 38 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren, as well as many other friends and family.
Visitation will begin on Wednesday, February 12, 2025 at St. Philip Benizi Catholic Church in Poteet, Texas at 9:00 a.m. with Mass to begin at 10:00 a.m. Burial is to follow at San Ysidro Cemetery in Pleasanton, Texas.
