Hector S. Martinez's Obituary
Hector S. Martinez was called home to be with our Lord on December 15, 2023, at the age of 78. He is preceded in death by his wife, Sulema Martinez, parents; Doroteo & Trinidad Martinez, sister, Florentina Garcia and brother, Rolando Martinez. Hector is survived by his children; Jose Luis Martinez (Kathy Sarkardehi-Martinez), Doroteo Martinez (Anselma Martinez), Hector Martinez Jr., Gisela Patino (Servando Patino), Crystal Mata (Josue Mata), sisters; Lydia Garcia, Graciela Solis, Armandina Garza, brothers; Doroteo Martinez, Oscar Martinez, grandchildren; Doroteo Martinez Jr., Crystal Ayala, Daniella Martinez, Cristian Martinez, Hannah Sarkardehi Martinez, Ryan Sarkardehi Martinez, Desiree Zuniga, Mia Patino, Sabrina Martinez, Ava Sulema Mata, Audrey Mata, great grandchildren, Daniel Ayala Jr., Olivia Ayala. Hector was a very hard worker that instilled good work ethic into his children, retiring from City Public Service after 35 years with the company. He enjoyed sitting outside with his dog to listen to the birds and wind chimes, playing loteria at family get togethers, going for drives around the neighborhood and doting on his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was a man of few words but his whole world revolved around his family and what he couldn’t speak, he showed, he was a pivotal part of this family and he will be missed immensely. Our family finds solace in knowing he is reunited with our Lord and Sulema, his wife of 50 years. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 26, 2023 from 3:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. with a celebration of life 6:30 p.m. On Wednesday, December 27, 2023, visitation will be held at Mayfield Park Baptist Church located at 700 W. Hutchin Pl. San Antonio, TX. 78221 from 9:00 -11:00 a.m. with a service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at First Memorial Park Cemetery.
