Guadalupe A. Ruelas' Obituary
Guadalupe A. Ruelas went to be with the Lord on Monday, May 23, 2016 at the age of 65. Mr. Ruelas is survived by his loving wife of forty-five years, Rachel S. Ruelas; daughters, Veronica Ruelas Getty (Scott A. Getty); Virginia Ruelas Diaz (Joseph A. Diaz); son, Guadalupe S. Ruelas, Jr. (Amanda C. Ruelas); grandchildren, Tristenne Isabella Ruelas Abel, Xavier John Ruelas, Abigail Raquel Ruelas, Dominic Joseph Diaz, Jacob Anthony Diaz, and Stephen Nicolas Diaz; as well as numerous nieces and nephews and his loyal pet companion, Mia. He is also survived by his brothers, Ernesto, Hilario, Nicolas, Jr., Felipe, Rodolfo, Fred, Torivio, and David; sisters, Aurora, Amelia, and Jovita. He was preceded in death by his parents, Nicolas, Sr., and Jovita Ruelas; brother Alejandro Ruelas, sister Minerva Ruelas, nephew Christopher Jon Gomez, and sister-in-law Mary Lopez. Throughout his career, Mr. Ruelas worked as an engineer at the Hilton Palacio del Rio and Omni Colonnade. He served in his church ACTS ministry, and patiently taught many of those near him through his vast knowledge and mechanical skills. He had deep and sincere love for his family, a joke for almost any occasion and a smile for everyone that will be remembered fondly and greatly missed. The family would like to thank the physicians who have cared for Mr. Ruelas for many years, including Dr. Terrence Fried, Dr. Harry Uy, Dr. Gerald Koppes, Dr. Heather McKenzie, as well as the nurses at Methodist Metropolitan SICU who provided outstanding care over the last month. They would also like to express their gratitude to his nieces, Stephanie Hernandez and Kelly Lopez-Ramirez and sister-in-law, Irene Hernandez, for the love and companionship they offered to Mr. Ruelas and the rest of the family. Visitation will begin at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 26, 2016 at the Camero Funeral Home Chapel. A rosary will be held on Thursday, May 26, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. at the Camero Funeral Home Chapel. A Funeral Service will be held Friday morning at 10:00 a.m. at the St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church. Burial will follow at First Memorial Park Cemetery.
