Gloria O. Vela, was called home on April 8, 2025
surrounded by loved ones at the age of 88. Born on
March 9,1937 in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico to late parents
Higinio Rivas and Maria Vega. She lived a life filled
with passion, laughter and love here in San Antonio,
TX.
A devout Jehovah Witness and lifelong member
since 1955 of the Colima- Weir Kingdom Hall.

She dedicated her life in service to Jehovah
and her children.
She was preceded in death by her husband Samuel V.
Orozco Sr.; her parents; her siblings Esteban Rivas,
Emilia Muñiz, Isabela (Chavela) Mena, Enrique Esquivel,
Juan Esquivel; her son Jesus (Chuy) R. Orosco;
son in-law Paul M. Martinez; daughter in-law Josefina
(Josie) L. Orozco; Grandchildren Samuel L. Orozco III, Mark
Anthony L. Orozco, and Rebecca (Becky) O. Martinez.
She is survived by her siblings George Cisneros (Gloria),
Virginia Rivas; her children Samuel R. Orozco Jr., Ricardo
R. Orosco (Janie), Olga O. Duran (Fidencio), Herminia O.
Martinez, Maria O. Herrera (Vidal), Sylvia O. Gonzales, Roberto
R. Orosco (Veronica); (15) grandchildren, (18) great-grandchildren,
and (6) great great-grandchildren.
