Gilberto Ritz's Obituary
Gilberto Ritz (John Gilbert Ritz Sr.) was born to Lilia Bustamante and Daniel Ritz Sr. on July 12, 1944 and passed away peacefully in his lifelong hometown of San Antonio, TX on September 18, 2021 at the age of 77.
Mr. Gilberto Ritz is proceeded in death by his Parents; Lilia Bustamante and Daniel Ritz Sr, brother; Daniel Ritz Jr; sister, Sylvia Ritz; granddaughter, Hillary H. Peña, and his nephew, Christopher Ritz.
Mr. Gilberto Ritz is survived by his only Son, John G. Ritz Jr. (Angelica); Daughters; Lillian Pena (Rick,) Leticia Ramon (Joe) and Lisa Yvette Ritz-Mejia (Antonio); nieces, Melissa Ritz-Tremillo, Sylvia Castellanos, Cynthia Ritz, Natalie De La Fuente, Debra Ritz Garnica and Pamela Ritz, nephews Robert Garza, Daniel Ritz III and Rodney Ritz. Gilberto is also survived by his 9 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, as well as by numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.
Mr. Gilberto Ritz proudly served his nation in the United States Army from September 1963 to September 1965. In his free time, you could always find Gilberto going “antiquing” as collecting antiques was one of his most loved hobbies and he always loved finding another cool or interesting item to bring back home to show the family and add to his collection. Gilberto was also an avid Billiard’s Pool shark, and you could frequently find him winding down after a long day with a good game of pool, one of the other joys in life was cooking for his friends and family.
He will be lovingly remembered and always greatly missed by all that knew and loved him.
A Columbarium memorial service will be held at Ft. Sam National Cemetery on October 07, 2021 at 9:45 a.m.
