George H. Gamez Sr.'s Obituary
George H. Gamez, Sr., born December 11, 1947 to Martin Donovan Gamez and Hortencia Hernandez Gamez in San Antonio, Texas passed away on Friday October 18, 2019 at the age of 71 years. Mr. Gamez was preceded in death by his father, Martin Donovan Gamez, mother, Hortencia Hernandez Gamez, and grandson, Tony Duron, Jr. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Maria Graciela Gamez; son, George Gamez, Jr. (Dianna); daughters, Rachel F. Herrera (Stephen), Hortencia Duron (Tony), Patricia Trinidad (Edward), and Melissa Gamez; brothers, Martin Gamez, Arturo Gamez, and Seferino Gamez; sisters, Hortencia Fernandez and Mary Gamez; 14 grandchildren; 5 great- grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Mr. Gamez was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and a friend to everyone he met. He had a sense of humor and a positive outlook on life, never seeing the wrong in anyone, and always put others before himself. He loved spending time with family, especially his grandchildren. He was active in his grandchildren’s sporting events, attending all the games they played. He liked to go fishing and was a big Dallas Cowboy’s fan. He will be greatly missed by all whose lives he touched. Visitation will begin on Thursday, October 24, 2019 at 4:00 p.m. at the Camero Funeral Home. A Rosary Service will be held on Thursday Evening at 7:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home Chapel. A procession will leave Camero Funeral Home at 9:15 a.m. Friday, October 25, 2019 and we will be en route to St. Bonaventure Catholic Church located at 1918 Palo Alto Rd, San Antonio, TX 78211 for a 10:00 a.m. Mass. Burial will follow at First Memorial Park Cemetery. Care has been entrusted to Camero Funeral Home. Condolences may be offered at www.camerofuneralhome.com
