Genaro G. Aguilar's Obituary
Genaro Aguilar, 80, of San Antonio, went to be with the Lord on August 20, 2023. He was a beloved Son, Brother, Husband, Father, Grandfather, and Great-Grandfather. He is preceded in death by his wife of over 50 years, Catarina Aguilar, Father, Santos Aguilar Sr., Mother, Dolores Galvan Aguilar, Daughter, Sandra Aguilar Scott, and Brother, Emilio Aguilar Sr. Genaro is survived by his Daughters, Mary Esther Aguilar Cortez (Margaret Cortez) and Maricela Aguilar DeLuna (Eduardo DeLuna) as well as two grandchildren Erica Nicole Aguilar DeLuna and Thomas K. Scott II, and two great-grandchildren, Unique Yanes Aldaco and Edson Vega, five brothers and two sisters and Sylvia Quintana companion of over 10 years.
Even though illness took him away from this world too soon, his bold spirit and captivating voice will live on in his music and in everyone he ever met. Genaro loved life and would want us to continue to live our lives to the fullest. We will miss him dearly but take comfort in knowing he is in Heaven singing, dancing, and smiling.
Services will be held on Wednesday, August 30, 2023 from 3:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at St. Leo's the Great Catholic Church with a rosary to be recited at 6:00 p.m. On Thursday, August 31, 2023 a Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. at St. Leo's the Great Catholic Church with burial to follow at First Memorial Park Cemetery.
