Gabriela Guerrero Guerra's Obituary
Gabriela Guerrero Guerra was called home to the Lord on June 3, 2026. Born on March 10, 1938, in Rio Grande City, Texas, to Alicia and Pedro Guerrero, Gabriela lived a life defined by faith, devotion, kindness, and service to others.
Gabriela was known for her unwavering honesty, quick wit, infectious sense of humor, and the genuine love she shared with everyone she met. She had a remarkable ability to make others feel welcome, valued, and cared for. Her laughter, warmth, and compassionate spirit touched countless lives and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
She was blessed to share 55 loving years of marriage with her beloved husband, Eddie. A proud graduate of Brackenridge High School, Class of 1956, Gabriela dedicated her life to her family, her community, and her faith. She faithfully served for many years as a teacher’s aide with the Harlandale School District and was deeply committed to the COPS/Metro Alliance and Project Quest organizations. A devoted Catholic, she was a longtime parishioner of St. Leo the Great Catholic Church.
Gabriela was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Eddie; her son, Eduardo; her parents, Pedro and Alicia Guerrero; her brothers, Frank, Pete, and Richard Guerrero; and her son-in-law, Manuel Garcia.
She is survived by her loving sister, Maria Elena Rodriguez; and her daughters, Grace Garcia, Belinda Barrera (Gabino), and Brenda Ruiz (Noe). Gabriela was a proud and devoted grandmother to Manuel (Jessica), Gabriel, Mindy (Tyler), Noe (Rebecca), Justin (Vanessa), and Bianca. She was also blessed to be a loving great-grandmother to Jackson, Victor, Kaleb, Tanner, Adelina, and Ophelia all of whom brought her immense joy and pride.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Pam and the compassionate staff of St. Jeanne’s Personal Care Home for the exceptional care, kindness, and support they provided during Gabriela’s final days. Their love and dedication brought comfort to both Gabriela and her family and will always be remembered with deep appreciation.
Gabriela’s legacy of love, faith, laughter, and selfless devotion to others will live on in the hearts of her family and friends for generations to come.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 11, 2026 from 5:00p.m. to 8:00p.m. with a rosary to begin at 6:00p.m. at Alamo Funeral Home, 624 N. Alamo, San Antonio, Texas 78215 . A funeral procession will depart Alamo Funeral Home on Friday, June 12, 2026 at 9:30a.m. for a 10:00a.m. mass at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church, with interment to follow at First Memorial Park Cemetery.
